Here are 10 things you need to know about
our 2018 Beer Festival
This is our 6th fund raising Beer Fest. It is run entirely by volunteers to raise funds to provide facilities and equipment for Monk Fryston School and Monk Fryston and Hillam Community Centre. We provide loads of covered accommodation so there is no need to worry about the weather. We recommend you take advantage of the advance purchase ticket price.
1. The Event
The Beer Fest is really 3 events in one – Friday ‘taste the ale evening’ Saturday afternoon ‘Family Fest’ and Saturday evening is ‘Party Time’.
Advance purchase Tickets are on sale now at Monk Fryston Village Store and Berts Barrow for £5 (under 18’s are free) and now you can even buy online.
PLEASE NOTE: Tickets will be £7.50 on the door!
We prefer people to walk to a drinking event. There is drop off and restricted parking at the Community Centre but plenty of free parking nearby at Monk Fryston School.
4. Public Transport:
Our Beer Festival is in a country village so public transport links are restricted. We do have a limited bus service. Our nearest train station at South Milford enjoys a regular service between Leeds and Selby as does Micklefield Station between Leeds and York. There are a number of local taxi services.
For simplicity we operate a beer token system at the Bars and for most food and other items. We provide the facility to pay for entrance and tokens by debit and credit card. Each token has a value of £1.50. You can buy them individually or 7 for £10.
We operate a Draught Beer, Draught Cider and bottle Bars and serve a variety of soft drinks, plus teas and coffees on Saturday afternoon. There is something for everyone including alcohol free beer. We stop serving spot on closing time so please don’t ask us for ‘just another’.
We provide a variety of foods throughout the event and there is something for every taste and diet.
Apart from tasting a superb range of beers, ciders, wines and other drinks we will be providing excellent entertainment with top class bands on Friday and Saturday evenings, and a mix of entertainers and things to keep the kids well occupied and smiling on Saturday afternoon.
Guide dogs are welcome but no other dogs or pets will be permitted entry.
Smoking and e-cigarettes are only permitted to be smoked in the signed, designated smoking areas.
10. More Information:
Please see other pages of the website for fuller details; after that if you have any other questions please message us and we will be happy to help!
Our aim is to provide a safe, enjoyable event for everyone which offers great value for money, particularly families. Whilst there will be something left to eat and drink at the end of the event we do aim to sell out of everything we can to maximise what we can raise for our two good causes and the return for our effort. So we apologise in advance if your favourite beer is ‘pulled off’.
